Whalewatching

Whalewatching in Liguria
Whales and dolphins are our travelling companions on a splendid day out by boat. During the hot and calm days of July, the very flat conditions and the absence of wind are ideal for whalewatching.
There have been a number of sightings of these beautiful creatures at this time of year in the Whale Sanctuary, a more than 100,000 square kilometre area of open sea which extends from the French coast towards Sardinia and Tuscany, taking in the whole of the Mar Ligure, as this part of the Mediterranean is known.

We expect the first whalewatching excursion to be on Wednesday 28 July, leaving from Andora at 12.50pm and thereafter every Wednesday. The five hour trip costs:

  • 30€ - adults (special price for clients of our hotels)
  • 20€ - children between 5 and 14 years
  • Free – children under 5

If you have a full board package at our hotels, we will provide you with a packed lunch. In addition, our clients can join the free minibus to take them to join the whalewatch boat. It leaves Finale Ligure at midday. During the trip you will be in full sun, so we strongly recommend that you wear polarising sunglasses, sun cream, a sun hat, a T shirt and appropriate footwear, and preferably a light waterproof jacket.
